Jin Kazama is een vechter die zich aanmeldt voor het Iron Fist Tournament. Hij wil zich wreken op de man die in zijn ogen verantwoordelijk is voor de dood van zijn moeder. Deze man, Heihachi Mishima is tevens de organisator van het toernooi. Om in de buurt van Mishima te kunnen komen om hem te doden, moet hij het toernooi zien te winnen.
