Will Graham is een gangster die genoeg heeft van de misdaad. Hij besluit om zich te vestigen op het platteland. Als zijn broer, die ook niet vies is van criminele zaakjes, zelfmoord pleegt, keert Will terug in de stad die hij drie jaar geleden achter zich had gelaten. Hij gaat op onderzoek, om er achter te komen waarom zijn broer zelfmoord heeft gepleegd.
