Het meer van Springfield is ongelofelijk vervuild en er moet iets worden gedaan. Iedere bewoner stopt vervolgens met afval in het meer te gooien en het probleem lijkt te zijn opgelost. Maar als Homer Simpson dan de uitwerpselen van zijn net aangeschafte varken in het meer dumpt, gaat alles helemaal mis. Homer en zijn familie weten te ontsnappen en vluchten naar Alaska. Maar daar horen ze dat de regering Springfield geheel van de kaart wil vegen en weten dat ze hun woonplaats moeten zien te redden.
Nee, helaas is The Simpsons Movie nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
