In de onderwereld van de motorclubs is er één koning: Smoke, oftewel King of Cali (Laurence Fishburne). Zijn hoge en dominante positie wordt echter bedreigd door een nieuwkomer in de motorwereld. Kid (Derek Luke) heeft er alles voor over om Smokes helm en daarmee ook zijn titel te veroveren.
