Ellen rijdt met een bepaalde reden het kleine en saaie prairiestadje Redemption binnen. Wanneer Ellen de plaatselijke saloon bezoekt wordt daar net de jaarlijkse schietwedstrijd 'Quick Draw' georganiseerd door de charismatische John Herod, die het in Redemption voor het zeggen heeft.
