Deja schaatste op de rolschaatsbaan terwijl haar moeder, Celeste, gratis lesgaf aan de buurtkinderen. Deja's oma kwam naar de ijsbaan om Deja en haar schaatspartner Ian naar huis te brengen. Voordat ze vertrokken, vroeg Ian Deja om verkering, en Deja zei ja. Later schrijven ze een wens om voor altijd samen te zijn en verbranden die. Oma krijgt een telefoontje dat Celeste is overleden bij een ongeluk. Deja's vader, Joe, zal Deja bij hem in Duitsland laten wonen...
