De normale samenleving is in verval geraakt. De snelwegen zijn een nachtmerrieachtig decor geworden voor een dodelijk spel tussen een groep criminele motorrijders en een handjevol jonge politieagenten in opgevoerde achtervolgauto's. Max is een jonge agent, verantwoordelijk voor de dood van één van de leiders van de motorrijders, genaamd 'The Nightrider'. Zijn vriendin, Jessie, wil dat hij bij de politie-eenheid weggaat. Max gaat inderdaad bij de politie weg en wil alleen nog maar rust en gaat met Jessie en haar baby een lange vakantie houden.
Nee, helaas is Mad Max nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
