Een acteur wordt tijdens een theatervoorstelling dodelijk vergiftigd. Collega-acteur Martin wordt al gauw verdacht door de politie en op de hielen gezeten door een geheimzinnige organisatie die de moord bevolen heeft. Martin probeert het mysterie op te lossen en krijgt daarbij onverwachts hulp van de cartoonist Claire.
