Inés is een Spaanse kunstenares die in India woont. Ze stuit op het sciencefictionverhaal 'Sultana's Dream', geschreven door Rokeya Hossain in 1905. Het boek beschrijft Ladyland, een utopisch land waarin vrouwen het land regeren terwijl mannen thuis worden gehouden en verantwoordelijk zijn voor de huishoudelijke taken. Gefascineerd door het verhaal begint Inés aan een reis door het land op zoek naar de enige plek waar vrouwen in vrede kunnen leven.
