Tiener Chris woont samen met zijn vader John en ziekelijke broertje Tim op een afgelegen boerderij in het zuiden van de VS. Ze krijgen onverwachts bezoek van oom Deel, de gluiperige broer van John, die net uit de gevangenis komt en niet zonder reden op bezoek komt. Nadat een tragedie zich voordoet zijn de twee broers hun leven niet meer zeker en slaan ze op de vlucht.
