Na zijn vorige avontuur slaagde Nobita erin zijn toekomst ten goede te keren door Shizuka te dwingen met hem te trouwen. In zijn wanhoop besluit hij echter terug te keren naar het verleden om zijn geliefde grootmoeder te vinden, die stierf toen hij nog op de kleuterschool zat en van wie hij heel veel hield.
