In 1815 bevrijdt Tomas Alcala, een monnik, per ongeluk de twee vrouwelijke demonen Munkar en Nakir. Zij reizen met spoed naar de 21ste eeuw. Tomas is door God verkozen om door de tijd te reizen en de verwoestingen van de demonen tot een halt te brengen.
