Terwijl hij nog hopeloos verliefd is op zijn ex Nova, slijt Miles zijn dagen met een uitzichtloze baan als videogame-ontwikkelaar. Zijn alledaagse bestaan wordt abrupt verstoord wanneer hij aangemeld staat op een illegale website die personen verplicht laat meevechten in een spel op leven en dood.
