Wanneer eekhoorn Frankie ontsnapt uit de 'rehabilitatie-dierentuin' keert hij terug naar het bos. Zijn vriend, het stekelvarken Cody, vertelt hem dat tijdens zijn afwezigheid alle eikels zijn verdwenen. Het hele bos is kaalgeplukt door het zogenaamde A.C.O.R.N. instituut. Met de winter voor de deur besluit Frankie de boosdoeners te bezoeken.
Nee, helaas is Frankie en de Noottoestand nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
