Mac, een harde agent wordt opgescheept met een nieuwe partner, een bekende gek, om met hem aan een moeilijke zaak te werken. De nieuwe partner is Ellis, een soort van Sherlock Holmes agent. Hij heeft alleen wat probleempjes: hij blijft geloven dat hij in een tv show zit met allemaal acteurs.
