Agent Pally uit Boston wordt gedwongen vervroegd met pensioen te gaan, wat zijn huwelijk onder druk zet. Pally's stiefbroer, Ray, probeert hem op te vrolijken door hem een tip te geven over een renpaard. Maar hun pogingen om het paart te laten racen worden gedwarsboomd door een plaatselijke maffiabaas, die het paard steelt als terugbetaling voor een gokschuld. Nu hun investering op het spel staat, raken Pally en Ray verstrikt in een web van misdaad en moord .
