Omdat Jor-El de raad van Krypton niet kon overtuigen dat hun planeet zal verwoest worden, stuurt hij zijn zoon Kal-El naar de planeet aarde, zodat hij hun ras kan redden. Daar wordt Kal-El opgevoed door de familie Kent, ze noemen hem Clark Kent. Op aarde blijkt hij over superkrachten te beschikken, met die krachten wilt hij het slechte in de wereld bestrijden. Als hij volwassen is gaat hij in Metropolis bij de Daily Planet werken als reporter. Daar leert hij zijn eerste liefde kennen, Lois Lane.
Nee, helaas is Superman nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
