Na de moord op zijn vrouw verhuist Ray met zijn zoontje naar Lunar, een klein en rustig plaatsje in Area 51. Daar raakt hij bevriend met Hope, de eigenaresse van de lokale herberg. Wanneer Hope een aantal toeristen gaat ophalen, wordt ze op de terugweg bijna van de weg gereden door een truck zonder bestuurder. Terug in Lunar blijkt dat het goed mis is; een convooi trucks heeft de aanval op het dorp en zijn bewoners geopend. Dit is Stephen Kings 'Close Encounter of the Machine Kind.'
