Het is december '33. New York City maakt net zoals zovele andere steden over de gehele wereld een zware depressie mee. De traditionele kerststemming is ver te zoeken nu de mensen te kampen hebben met zware financiële en emotionele moeilijkheden. Eén meisje heeft de moed echter nog niet opgegeven. Het weeskindje Annie barst nog steeds van optimisme en zit vol dromen.
Nee, helaas is Annie nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
