De veertienjarige Kelly Collins heeft een perfect leventje, totdat haar moeder met het hoofd van een militaire academie gaat trouwen. Kelly moet haar mooie kleren inruilen voor legerkleding en ze wordt hard onder handen genomen door haar instructeur. Toch besluit ze te laten zien, dat onder deze moeilijke omstandigheden ze alles kan overwinnen.
