Fransman Abel Tiffauges houdt van kinderen en wil ze beschermen tegen volwassenen. Vals beschuldigd van het molestreren van een kind moet hij als soldaat dienen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog, maar hij wordt al snel gevangen genomen door de vijand. Hij wordt door de Duitsers gebruikt als trainingsleider voor een nazi kamp in het Kaltenborg kasteel. Tiffauges is hier gelukkig mee, omdat hij voor de Duitse kinderen kan zorgen, maar moet leven met het feit hij de vijand helpt bij hun strijd.
