Barbara Weaver leidt samen met haar man Eli en hun kinderen een traditioneel leven in een Amish-gemeenschap in Ohio. Eli wil echter ontsnappen aan deze manier van leven en gaat online op zoek naar vrouwen. Hij krijgt een minnares en bedenkt samen met haar een plan om Barbara te vermoorden. Gebaseerd op een waargebeurd verhaal.
