In een goedkoop hotelletje in Bangkok maakt de Amerikaanse rugzaktoerist Richard kennis met Daffy, een dertiger die getekend is door jarenlang druggebruik. Hij beweert dat hij het paradijs op aarde heeft ontdekt. Het is het perfecte strand, ingesloten door steile kliffen en onbereikbaar voor de gewone toeristen. Het is voor hen zelfs verboden terrein. Richard is meteen geïntrigeerd.
