De tiener Daphne reist af van New York naar Engeland om op zoek te gaan naar haar vader. Hij weet niet dat hij een kind heeft met zijn Amerikaanse vriendin die hij ontmoette toen hij in Marokko werkte. Terwijl Daphne haar vader probeert te leren kennen moet ze zich aanpassen aan de voor haar nieuwe sociale regels waar ze mee te maken krijgt.
