Prive detective Ford Fairlane is gespecialiseerd in zaken die te maken hebben met Rock arts. Deze keer raakt hij verstrikt in een vreemde moordzaak, waarbij een groot aantal personages betrokken zijn. Groupie Zuzu Petals is zijn belangrijkste aanknopingspunt, volgens hem weet zij meer van de moord. Op zijn speurtochten raakt Fairlane verstrikt in een doolhof van corruptie, chantage en moord!
