Martin Tweed (Hugh Grant) presenteert het immens populaire Amerikaanse Idols-achtige tv-programma American Dreamz. De van zelfliefde én zelfhaat vervulde Tweed is altijd op zoek naar nieuwe idolen. Hij doet er alles aan om de kijkers aan zich te blijven binden. Zijn vasthoudendheid staat op het punt om alles te overtreffen. Voor dit seizoen heeft Tweed een verrukkelijke groep kandidaten waaronder Sally, een konkelende, charmante bitch met een trouwe, suffe oudere vriend, en Omer, een klunzige terrorist in spe met een voorliefde voor show tunes. Als Tweed de president van de VS (Dennis Quaid), wiens populariteit wel 'n zetje kan gebruiken, weet te strikken als jurylid, is alles gereed voor een programma dat de natie nooit meer zal vergeten.
Nee, helaas is American Dreamz nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
