De Parijse revolutie in 1871, aan de kant van de deelnemers aan de Commune. Ze hebben 72 dagen om de loop van de geschiedenis te veranderen. 150 jaar later komen de woorden en gravures uit die tijd weer tot leven. Ze vormen het enige materiaal van de film die deze periode toont zoals ze zichzelf zag.
