Een nieuwe incarnatie van Cangaceiro-bandieten, geleid door Coirana, is opgestaan in de badlands. Een blinde landeigenaar huurt Antônio in om zijn oude vijand uit te roeien. Maar nadat Antônio Coirana heeft verslagen en de stervende man naar zijn schuilplaats in de bergen heeft vergezeld, wordt hij ontroerd door het lot van de volgelingen van de Cangaceiro. De onrustige huurmoordenaar wordt revolutionair, zijn pistool en kapmes gericht op zijn voormalige meesters.
