Morán, een bankmedewerker in Buenos Aires, heeft een riskant plan bedacht om zichzelf en zijn collega Román te bevrijden van hun slaafse beroepsleven. Hij wil precies genoeg geld van de bank roven om hun pensioen te financieren. Hij zal zijn daad bekennen, om vervolgens nooit meer te hoeven werken - liever 3,5 jaar de gevangenis in dan nog 25 jaar achter het loket. Román, die het geld moet verbergen, stemt uiteindelijk in met dit bizarre voorstel. Het plan lijkt te lukken, totdat een onderzoek op werk ook Román verdacht maakt. Hij besluit de buit te verplaatsen naar het platteland waar hij, ver weg van de ontberingen van het stadsleven, een mysterieuze vrouw ontmoet die zijn leven voorgoed verandert.
