Max Barber is een filmproducer die veel geld verschuldigd is aan een maffiabaas. In een wanhoopsdaad alle schulden bij elkaar te sprokkelen, neemt Barber zijn toevlucht tot verzekeringsfraude. Hij cast een suïcidale filmster voor zijn volgende film, met de bedoeling hem te vermoorden tijdens de opnames, zodat er verzekeringsgeld ontvangen kan worden. Het plan loopt echter niet zo soepel als gedacht.
Nee, helaas is The Comeback Trail nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
