Een koeienstadje in het Wilde Westen smacht naar entertainment en het is de taak van Calamity Jane, een luidruchtige, gewapende tomboy, om naar Chicago te gaan om een beroemde toneelactrice terug te halen. In plaats daarvan neemt ze de meid van de ster mee, die zich in de stad vestigt, maar Jane's 'Secret Love' valt voor haar. Deze televisiespecial was gebaseerd op een toneelbewerking van de film die op het moment van uitzending in regionale circuits speelde.
Nee, helaas is Calamity Jane nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
