Na weer een werkdag zet Virgílio thuis het antwoordapparaat aan en hoort een verontrustend bericht. Het is een bericht van Clara, waarin het einde van hun relatie wordt meegedeeld. Virgílio luistert vervolgens herhaaldelijk naar de boodschap, op zoek naar een betekenis. Uit elkaar gaan is niet het probleem; het probleem is dat Virgílio geen idee heeft wie Clara is.
