Helen Quilley wordt op staande voet ontslagen. Wanneer ze terug naar huis gaat, ziet ze de deuren van de metro net voor haar neus dichtzoemen. We zien wat er gebeurt nu ze de metro heeft gemist en haar vriendje Gerry alle tijd van de wereld heeft om de sporen van zijn ontrouw uit te wissen. Dan wordt de tijd teruggedraaid en zien we een tweede Helen, die de trein wel haalt, en bij thuiskomst Gerry aantreft in de armen van zijn ex-vriendinnetje Lydia, waarop Helen zich stevig gaat bezatten en kennis maakt met de innemende Schot James.
