De ingenieur Helen Phillips is in rouw over de recente zelfdoding van haar man Wells Phillips, die een geniale fysicus was en medeoprichter van Curvature Research. Hij hield zich bezig met zijn grootste professionele trots: een prototype van een tijdmachine. Helen wordt op een dag verward en in paniek wakker, haar geheugen niet helemaal zoals het moet zijn. Ze wordt opgebeld door een stem die griezelig genoeg op die van haar lijkt en die haar waarschuwt dat ze in gevaar is.
