Zomer 1984, een perfecte tijd om een zorgeloze 15-jarige te zijn. Dat verandert al snel als complottheoreticus Davey Armstrong zijn buurman, die politieagent is, verdenkt een seriemoordenaar te zijn. Hij en zijn drie beste vrienden besluiten vervolgens een eigen onderzoek te starten dat al snel gevaarlijk dreigt te worden.
