Een boerenjongen uit Iowa gaat naar L.A. waar hij per ongeluk de verkeerde tas meeneemt op het vliegveld. Het blijkt een tas van de drugsmaffia en als hij ermee aankomt bij zijn broer en diens vrouw blijken deze vermoord. De politie denkt dat hij de moorden heeft gepleegd en zit achter hem aan. De enige die hij nu nog kent in L.A. is een meisje dat hij ontmoet heeft aan boord van het vliegtuig. Dus zoekt hij hulp bij haar, nadat hij de drugs verstopt heeft gaan ze op zoek naar de criminelen om zijn onschuld te kunnen bewijzen. Dit alles gaat zijn grenzen ver te buiten.
