Connie Ward kan haar geluk niet op als de muziekband van Gene Morrison haar woonplaats komt bezoeken. Ze wordt bovendien versierd door de knappe trompettist van de band, Bill Abbott, en trouwt met hem. Vervolgens reist ze mee op tournee met haar man en de band en ondervindt aan den lijve wat het betekent om een 'orkestechtgenote' te zijn.
