David, een recent afgestudeerde jongeman, beslist om marihuana in de straten van Manhattan te verkopen nadat hij zijn baan bij een adviesbureau verliest. Hij ontmoet al snel het meisje van zijn dromen, Kate. Met een vriendin die hem niet steunt, een stijging van het aantal klanten en de groeiende bedreigingen dat hij zal gevangen genomen worden of gedood, realiseert hij al snel dat hij tot over zijn oren in de problemen zit.
