Uitvinder Mariko werkt voor Hitachi. Zij ontwerpt per ongeluk een wasmachine waarmee je door de tijd kunt reizen. De Japanse regering vraagt haar hulp om terug te gaan naar 1990 om de val van de Japanse beurs te voorkomen. Maar ze verliezen contact met Mariko, het is nu de taak aan agent Isao en Mariko's dochter Mayumi om te onderzoeken wat er allemaal is gebeurd.
