Een Chileense talentenjacht in de vorm van 'American Idol', 'Rojo' werd een grote hit zodra het in de ether verscheen. Deze stripreeks geeft een fictieve draai aan al het backstage-drama: het achterbakse gedoe, de meedogenloze concurrentie en de hartstochtelijke overgave. De grens tussen fantasie en realiteit wordt nog verder vervaagd door verschillende grote sterren van de serie, waaronder Monserrat Bustamante, Mario Guerrero en Yamna Lobos, die verschijnen als pseudoversies van zichzelf.
