Nicholas Wladimirovitch Goduno (Marcello Mastroianni) is de eigenaar van een juwelenboetiek in Londen. Hij is echter ook de vierde in de lijn van Russische troonopvolgers. Omdat hij vindt dat hij de rechtmatige eigenaar is van een collectie Russische keizerlijke juwelen, besluit hij deze te stelen. Om zijn plan uit te voeren stelt Nicholas een bende van vrouwelijke criminelen samen om de juwelen tijdens een modeshow te stelen.
