Ellie is een jongedame, die tijdens de Kerst de verantwoordelijkheid krijgt over een bejaardenhuis dat normaal gesproken gerund wordt door haar oudere zus. Hoewel de meeste bewoners naar hun familie zijn met de Kerstdagen, blijven er vier bewoners, ook wel 'the hardcore' genoemd, achter in het huis. Hun gedrag is echter zo slecht dat het bejaardenhuis met sluiting bedreigd wordt.
