Jesse Williams wordt ten onrechte beschuldigd van mishandeling en beroving van het crack-hoertje Vanessa. Zij haalt Jesse echter uit een line-up en dat is het zwaarst wegende bewijs. Zijn alibi - de beschuldigde lag in bed ten tijde van de misdaad - wordt van tafel geveegd door het feit dat alleen zijn moeder daarvan getuige was. Bovendien bevindt zijn huis zich in de wijk van de misdaad en heeft Jesse een strafblad.
