De invloedrijke redactrice Margaret dreigt uitgezet te worden naar haar vaderland Canada. Om dit te voorkomen dwingt ze haar nietsvermoedende en komische assistent Andrew om zich met haar te verloven, terwijl ze hem al jarenlang het leven zuur maakt.
