Een van de modernste tactische vliegtuigen van de Amerikaanse luchtmacht, een F-100 met een nieuw lasergeleidingssysteem, stort neer in de zee bij Malta - een gebied waar ook de Sovjettroepen sterk aanwezig zijn. De CIA stuurt onmiddellijk hun beste geheim agent, Ken Tani, om het systeem te redden voordat het in vijandelijke handen valt. Om zeker te zijn van zijn loyaliteit, brengen ze zijn twee jonge zoons naar een nabijgelegen hotel op het eiland.
