Richard Gaddis heeft een nieuwe partner nodig die in staat is tot ingewikkelde oplichting en rekruteert Rodrigo, een boef met een perfect pokerface. De twee plannen een grote oplichterij: het verkopen van een vals zilvercertificaat aan valutaverzamelaar William Hannigan. Rodrigo wantrouwt zijn nieuwe partner, maar heeft geld nodig om zijn zieke vader te helpen. De situatie wordt ingewikkelder wanneer Rodrigo verliefd wordt op de zus van Gaddis, Valerie, en een andere speler in het spel trekt.
