Generaties lang hebben de inwoners van de Stad van Ember geleefd in een prachtige wereld vol met wonderbaarlijk glinsterende lichten. Als de inwoners er achter komen dat deze lichten hun kracht beginnen te verliezen en de lichtbron sterk achteruit gaat begint een race tegen de tijd. Twee tieners beginnen een avontuur waarin zij het bestaan van de Stad van Ember willen achterhalen en alle inwoners moeten helpen ontsnappen voordat de lichten voor altijd uit zullen gaan.
Nee, helaas is City of Ember nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
