Het verhaal volgt Walter Mitty, een foto editor die werkt voor LIFE Magazine. Dagelijks wordt hij getreiterd door zijn collega’s omdat hij constant zit te dagdromen achter zijn bureau. Dit weerhoudt hem er ook van om de vrouw van zijn dromen aan te spreken, die toevallig ook werkzaam is bij LIFE Magazine. Walter krijgt een kans om zichzelf te bewijzen als het negatief van een belangrijke foto verloren gaat en hij deze terug moet zien te vinden.
Nee, helaas is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
