Scotty Smalls verhuist met zijn moeder en stiefvader naar een nieuwe buurt en wil daar meteen leren honkballen. De plaatselijk honkbalster Rodriguez neemt Scotty onder zijn hoede en in een mum van tijd is hij lid van het plaatselijke clubje. Het groepje beperkt zich echter niet alleen tot honkballen, er wordt namelijk ook allerhande kattenkwaad uitgehaald.
Nee, helaas is The Sandlot nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
