Ash is een briljante maar teruggetrokken ‘fixer’ die via een anonieme telefoonservice (‘relay’) bemiddelt bij geheime uitbetalingen tussen corrupte bedrijven en klokkenluiders. Hij volgt strikte regels om onzichtbaar te blijven, tot hij wordt benaderd door biotechnologe Sarah, die zijn bescherming nodig heeft. Wanneer Ash besluit om haar te helpen en hun band alsmaar hechter wordt, begint hij zijn eigen regels te overtreden en dreigt zijn zorgvuldig opgebouwde systeem in te storten.
